4 Sep 2009 - START OF TERM

The first day of term for pupils will be Friday 4 September 2009.  The Local Authority has granted us an additional day in order to finalise our move to the new buildings.

As in previous years, in order to smooth the process for our new pupils, we propose a staggered start to the day.  Indeed, in order to ensure a calm, orderly start to the term, with plenty of time to remind pupils of the expectations and routine of school after such a long break, we are proposing a slightly different start time for all pupils:

Year 7 to arrive at 10am

Years 8 and 9 to arrive at 11am

Year 10 and 11 to arrive at 12noon.

On this Friday Year 7 will leave school  at 1.30pm and Years 8-11 will finish at our regular time of 2.05pm

On Monday 7th September there will again be a staggered start to the day:

Year 7 to arrive at 10am

Years 8,9,10,11 to arrive at 11am

On Monday, Year 7 will leave at 2.00pm and Years 8, 9, 10, 11 at our regular time of 2.55pm

Tuesday 8th September will start and finish as normal for all pupils.

We are sure that you will understand that what we are trying to achieve with these arrangements is a calm, orderly start to the term which supports all our  pupils.  Pupils new, and old, should have plenty of time to organise new timetables, planners, equipment etc.
