4 Sep 2007 - Back to School
The first day of term for pupils will be Tuesday 4 September. As in previous years, in order to smooth the process for Year 7 pupils we propose a staggered start to the day.
8.40 am Year 7 pupils arrive in school (the usual time) and spend time with tutors.
10.45am Years 8-11 arrive in school for an 11am start with their tutors.
Please Note
Year 7 will have an earlier lunch break and will leave school earlier than usual at 2pm on the first day. Years 8-11 will leave at the regular time for Tuesday of 2.55pm.
IMPORTANT
In order to set the correct tone for the year there will be a uniform/equipment check on the gate as pupils arrive at 10.45am. Those not in correct uniform (this means a school blazer for all pupils) or without a school bag, prepared for learning, will be sent home. They will return correctly equipped at 1.30pm.
When pupils arrive in the correct uniform and with the correct equipment staff have more time to concentrate on learning and progress. It has been statistically proven that high standards of formal uniform are linked to improved examination results and therefore we hope you understand the importance of school and parents working together in encouraging pupils to achieve the highest possible standards, in order to give them the best start in life.
