ICT Facilities
At Farnborough School Technology College we have a superb infra-structure of ICT hardware and software. We have over 300 computers connected to a network for student and staff use. All computers have broadband access to the Internet and a range of software packages. This includes up-to-date Microsoft® packages and a range of subject specialist software.

All staff and pupils have access to their own email account and have filtered Internet access through the East Midlands Broadband Consortium connection.

All students are encouraged to use these in a responsible and mature way. Back to top
ICT Resources
We believe in putting the students' learning first. Most classrooms have a variety of extra resources to aid Teaching and Learning. For example, we have a data-projectors in each classroom and one in each of the three computer suites, one of these being teamed with an interactive whiteboard. All staff have a computer on their desks and a large number have a laptop computer. There are also several computers in the main staffroom for those who need to research and prepare. Back to top
ICT Courses
ICT is an important part of the school, it is taught as a discreet lesson to Year 7 pupils and cross-curriculum throughout the school.

Farnborough School Technology College offers a GNVQ ICT Intermediate as an extra curricular course to Year 9 & 10 Pupils. The GNVQ 6 Unit award is equivalent to 4 GCSE A* to C passes. It gives students a good grounding in ICT and allows further progression on to Advanced ICT courses and is helpful in many types of employment and further college or work based courses. This course offered is heavily dependent on building portfolios. Therefore, for every hour spent in lessons, students are expected to spend a further hour in self-supported study. Back to top
