GCSE EXHIBITION

Currently in room 1.8 there is an end of year exhibition of GCSE coursework and examination work. All are welcome to view and share in the celebration of the students’ success during the Private View on Monday 29th June. This has been a successful year for year 11 Art and Design students and their work will continue to be showcased around the school.

ILLUSTRATION WORKSHOP

On 23rd April the Art Department held a 2 hour Manga illustration workshop funded by Quadrant C.  This was run by two leading British Manga illustrators, Emma Vecielli and Sonia Leong.  25 students from KS3 and KS4 took part in the workshop and after school preparation sessions, resulting in very successful, creative work that will be featuring on the school website. Congratulations to Kane Brough who won the prize for the best illustration.  Thanks to Sarah Wilson who helped with resources and Mrs Haseldine for the coordination of events.

PHOTOGRAPHY COURSES

Four GCSE students took part in a Digital Portraiture Project at the North E-learning centre in Nottingham, during the Spring Term.  This was a 2 day workshop that allowed students to produce professional photographs for their portfolios.  This is a specialist area that will continue to be developed at KS4, during extra curricular activities.
