22 Jan 2003 - Farnborough Community Sports Hall
Farnborough School is now in the process of writing Stage 2 of the £1 million bid to the New Opportunities Fund for a Sports Hall to be built at the school. The bid is at an advanced stage and we anticipate that by the end of Summer we willl have secured the funding for the project. It will include a 4 badminton court hall with resources for a wider range of indoor sports and activities, a purpose built fitness suite together with supporting changing facilities, storage, administration and reception areas.
The school and its feeder primaries will have prority for using the facilities during weekdays until 5pm. These will be made available for community use until around 10pm and throughout the weekends.
We have already consulted with a wide range of individuals, schools, community groups, clubs and associations. From this it is already clear that there is considerable interest in this project, which will provide much needed indoor sporting provision in an area that has been neglected over many years.

Questionnaires need to be returned to school by Friday 31st January 2003 to be entered into the £50 prize draw. Thank you for completing these, we hope that you and your family will soon be making good use of our sports hall and fitness suite.
