Anti-bullying

Any isolated or sustained behaviour which is intended to harm or diminish other people by making them feel uncomfortable or threatened.

There are many different kinds of bullying. The main types are physical, verbal and emotional, and since people react differently it is not always possible to tell if they have been hurt or upset.

Our Aim

The aim of our policy is to emphasise to students, staff and parents that bullying is never acceptable, to clarify what we mean by it, and to explain how we deal with it.

Each individual should be able to come to school knowing that bullying will not be tolerated and they will be protected when they feel vulnerable; that the school will offer a safe environment and their rights as individuals will be respected in line with our stated values and charter.

Our Declaration

At Farnborough School we believe that bullying must not be tolerated. We view this issue very seriously.

We believe it is a high priority for all staff, parents and pupils to take all measures possible to prevent bullying from occurring and to deal with any incident which arises as swiftly and effectively as possible. We strongly encourage all pupils, parents and staff to report all incidents at once so that they can be dealt with as a priority.
