We believe that developments, achievements and Specialist Status prove our determination:
"To be a Learning Community of the highest quality, opportunity and achievement" and as Farnborough School Technology College we wish to provide many additional and different experiences and opportunities for the young people who attend here.
Our stated intent as a Specialist Technology College include the following. That:-
*We are committed to raising still further the standards of achievement in each specialist subject through the increased quality of teaching and learning; to extending curricular opportunities in the specialist subjects, and to increasing the take-up and interest in specialist subject courses including beyond 16.
*Our commitment to higher standards and providing a range of high quality educational learning opportunities will be helped by sharing our specialist facilities and resources with our partner schools and groups and members of our wider community, including local business, and developing and disseminating good practice to encourage a culture which believes in the value of life-long learning.
*Students will engage in a range of technological experiences in the specialist areas of Design and Technology, Science, Mathematics and the imaginative application of Information and Communication Technology, throughout the school.
*We will lead others in innovative practice taking part in national initiatives and awards to enrich pupils' provision in the specialist areas, and work with the e-Learning foundation, our sponsors, and other specialist schools nationally to lead the development of progression in ICT technical skills.
*We will provide new experiences beyond the school day through structured learning opportunities in the specialist subjects, and will underpin all our work by improving levels of literacy in the context of new technologies and through innovative methods as a key foundation for our pupils in all subject areas.
*We will work with our industrial and business colleagues the EiC, the Specialist Schools Network, the LA and our sponsors who share our sense of urgency in achieving success, to develop key partnerships, e-Learning links and further technological and real-world experiences for our youngsters in a culture of enterprise and innovation. We also offer a wide range of extra curricular activities with sport, music and ICT featuring very strongly.
